Welcome!

Hello!

My name is Amelia Robertson, and it is my privilege to share with you the word of God through devotions, poems, and other writings.

Since I was young, I have felt God calling me to serve him by sharing his truth. I wanted to start a blog and online business from home but never knew where to start until now.

I decided to trust God and take the leap of faith to create Homemakers Cornerstone.
This is a place where I can share my devotions, thoughts, and homemaking.

I plan to share tips on homemaking and products that have helped make my life as a housewife easier.

My goal is to reach other people with God’s word using my everyday life experiences.

I am a sinner who loves God, and I just want to share all the ways he makes himself known in my life, so that I can help others as he has helped me.

The Lord has blessed me with many interests to use in his ministry, and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you who takes an interest in Homemakers Cornerstone.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you enjoy the content that has been provided. Have a blessed day!

Sincerely,
Amelia Robertson

How Did Homemakers Cornerstone Get Its Name?

A homemaker is someone who cares for the home and puts the needs of those living in it first.

A cornerstone is a base from which a house is built. It provides a starting point for a stable foundation and stability for everything it holds.

I am a homemaker, and Jesus is the cornerstone of my life, beliefs, marriage, home, and purpose. The walls are joined together by the cornerstone; I am joined together with God and my husband through Jesus Christ.

Although, they are only two words they both carry many meanings and sum up the center of my life. God is my homemaker, and his only son Jesus is my cornerstone.

“As you come to him, the living stone rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him. You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in the scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”
Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”
1 Peter 2: 4-7, NIV

When Worry Changes Nothing“Then Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?’”Luke 12:22–26 NIVIt’s easy to get caught up in the troubles of each day. We try to do too much in one day and become so busy that we forget to pause and pray. Our minds race ahead of us, replaying conversations, planning outcomes, and stressing over things that haven’t even happened yet.But Jesus asks a powerful question: Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?Worry feels productive, but it accomplishes nothing. It drains your energy, steals your focus, and robs you of peace. And most of the things we worry about are either small enough to forget tomorrow or completely outside of our control. The ravens don’t store up food for years ahead. They simply live, trusting the provision of their Creator. And Jesus reminds us that we are far more valuable than birds. If God faithfully provides for them, how much more will He care for you? When we carry worry and try to work at the same time, our minds are divided. We are thinking about the task and fearing the outcome. But when we surrender our anxiety to God, something shifts. Peace replaces panic. Focus replaces fear. We can work with clarity because our hearts are resting in Him.Today, release what you cannot change. Give your worries to the One who already holds tomorrow. Trust that the same God who feeds the ravens is faithfully caring for you.You cannot add an hour to your life by worrying , but you can add peace to your day by praying. Ask yourself…1. What is something you’ve been worrying about that you truly cannot control?2. How has worry affected your focus, mood, or productivity?3. What would it look like to fully surrender that situation to God today?4. How can you intentionally pause and pray the next time anxiety rises?Dear Heavenly Father, You see every burden I carry and every anxious thought that fills my mind. Forgive me for trying to control what only You can handle. Your Word reminds me that worry cannot change my circumstances, but trust in You can change my heart. Today I surrender my fears, my unfinished tasks, and the unknown future into Your hands. Replace my anxiety with Your peace. Help me to work faithfully, rest confidently, and trust fully in Your provision. Thank You for caring for the birds of the air, and for caring even more for me.In Jesus’ name,Amen.#FaithOverFear #TrustGod #ChristianEncouragement #DailyDevotional #AnxietyRelief #GodsPeace #LetGoAndLetGod #Luke12 #BibleTruth #ChristianWomen #PeaceInChrist #SurrenderToGod See MoreSee Less

No Lie Is Worth Your Soul"and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."Revelation 20:10 ESVI don’t know who needs to hear this today, but there is nothing on this earth worth going to hell for.The enemy has always been a deceiver. Scripture tells us he disguises himself, twists truth, and preys on pride. Before his fall, Lucifer was created beautiful but pride overtook him. He didn’t just want to serve God; he wanted to be God. And that rebellion cost him everything. Now he does what he has always done, he lies.He whispers promises of happiness without holiness. Success without surrender. Pleasure without consequence. But it is all an illusion. The enemy does not love you. He does not care about your future. He does not want your freedom; he wants your destruction. He knows his fate (Revelation 20:10), and he wants to take as many souls with him as possible. His strategy is simple: distort truth, normalize sin, minimize eternity. There is nothing he offers that compares to what God promises.Sin may feel good for a moment, but it separates us from the One who gives life. The most loving warning we can hear is this: repent. Turn around. Walk away from the lie before it hardens your heart.God does not call us to repentance to shame us, He calls us to repentance to save us.2 Peter 3:9 (ESV) says:"The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance."The enemy wants to hurt you to spite God.But God sent His Son to save you because He loves you.Today, choose truth.Choose surrender.Choose life.Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Turn from sin. Let Him guide you. Eternity is real and heaven is worth everything on this earth. 1. Is there an area of my life where I’ve believed a lie instead of God’s truth?2. What sin have I been excusing that the Holy Spirit is convicting me about?3. What would true repentance look like for me today?4. Do I truly believe eternity is real, and am I living like it is?Heavenly Father, open my eyes to every lie I have believed. Search my heart and reveal anything that separates me from You. Give me the courage to repent, to turn away from sin, and to walk in obedience. I don’t want temporary pleasure at the cost of eternal life. Strengthen me to resist the enemy and cling to Your truth. Thank You for Your mercy, Your patience, and Your saving grace. When Your Soul Needs to Breathe"As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God."Psalm 42:1 NIVThis morning, I laced up my shoes, grabbed the leashes, and stepped outside with my dogs. The air was cool, the trees were still, and the world felt slower somehow. No notifications. No noise. Just paws on the ground and birds singing overhead. And in that quiet, I felt it, my soul exhaling.Life gets loud. The constant scrolling. The endless to-do lists. The pressure to respond, produce, and keep up. We can be surrounded by noise and not even realize how thirsty our hearts have become.Psalm 42 paints a beautiful picture: a deer desperately searching for water. Not casually strolling. Not distracted. Panting. Longing. Needing. That’s how our souls were designed to seek God.But here’s the thing, it’s hard to hear Him over the buzz of our phones. It’s difficult to recognize His voice when our minds are cluttered with everyone else’s opinions. Sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is unplug, step outside, and let creation quiet us.Nature has a way of reminding us who God is.The steady trees whisper of His faithfulness. The breeze speaks of His gentleness. The vast sky declares His sovereignty. When we walk outside, whether it’s through mountain trails, across a backyard, or down a quiet country road; we step into a living reminder that God is present. And sometimes, the best conversation with Jesus happens when we aren’t rushing. If you’re overwhelmed today, take a walk. Leave your phone inside if you can. Let your dogs tug you toward the trees. Let the rhythm of your steps slow your thoughts. Start talking to Jesus, not with fancy words, just honest ones. Then pause.Let Him answer in the rustle of leaves. Let Him calm you in the sunlight. Let Him refill the places that feel dry.Your soul is thirsty. And He is the living water.Ask yourself…1. When was the last time you intentionally unplugged and spent quiet time outside with God?2. What distractions are keeping your soul from deeply seeking Him?3. How do you personally experience God when you’re in nature?4. What would it look like to build regular “walks with Jesus” into your week?Dear Lord, my soul is thirsty for You. Forgive me for trying to quench it with noise, distraction, and busyness. Help me slow down and seek You intentionally. Teach me to unplug from the world so I can plug into Your presence. Speak to me through Your creation and quiet my restless heart. Refresh me like cool water to a weary soul. Guarding the Door of My Lips“Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!”Psalm 141:3 ESVHave you ever found yourself so upset that you just had to say something? You had to give them a piece of your mind. You had to make sure your feelings were heard and your side of the story was understood? In those moments, it feels justified. It feels necessary. But Scripture gently warns us about letting our emotions speak for us.We work so hard to create peaceful homes and loving relationships… yet our words can undo in seconds what took years to build. A sharp response. A sarcastic comment. A selfish defense. Once spoken, words cannot be gathered back up.In Psalm 141:3, David doesn’t simply say, “Help me speak better.” He says, “Set a guard… keep watch over the door of my lips.” That imagery is intentional. We lock the doors of our homes to protect what we love. We don’t allow just anything to come inside. In the same way, not every emotion deserves a voice. Not every offense requires an immediate response. Not every thought needs to be spoken.Proverbs 21:23 (AMP) tells us,"He who guards his mouth and his tongue guards himself from troubles." Guarding our words is not weakness. It is wisdom. It is strength under control.Sometimes the most loving thing we can do for our marriages, our children, our families, and our friendships, is to pause. To breathe. To pray. To let the wave of emotion pass before we speak. Responding out of selfishness may feel satisfying in the moment, but it can quietly fracture trust and intimacy. Love is not proven by winning arguments. Love is often proven by restraint.I don’t always get this right. I’ve had to apologize more times than I can count. But I am learning that a guarded mouth protects more than just my reputation, it protects my relationships. It protects peace. It protects unity.Proverbs 18:21 (AMP) remins us: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words." Our words carry weight. They can wound deeply, or they can heal gently. So the next time you feel that urgency rising, that need to defend, correct, or prove your point; whisper a quick prayer:“Lord, guard my mouth.”You may still need to speak. There are times for honest conversations. But when we allow our emotions to settle and invite the Holy Spirit to lead, our words become instruments of grace instead of weapons of reaction. In a world full of noise and quick responses, choose the quiet strength of surrender. Trust God to handle what you place in His hands. Are you responding out of sin? Or are you responding with the spirit of God?Ask yourself…1. What situations tend to trigger emotional or defensive responses in me?2.Have my words ever damaged a relationship I deeply valued?3. What would change in my home if I paused and prayed before responding?4. Is there a conversation I need to revisit with gentleness and humility?Dear Heavenly Father,Set a guard over my mouth and keep watch over the door of my lips. When emotions rise quickly, help me pause before I speak. Protect my relationships from careless words and selfish responses. Teach me that love is not loud or reactive, but patient and wise. Let my words bring life, healing, and peace to my home. Shape my heart so that what flows from my mouth reflects Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.#ChristianDevotional #GuardYourWords#Psalm141 #Proverbs1821 #FaithAndFamily#ChristianWife #BiblicalMotherhood #SpeakLife#PeacefulHome #HeartCheck See MoreSee Less
