Welcome!

Hello!

My name is Amelia Robertson, and it is my privilege to share with you the word of God through devotions, poems, and other writings.

Since I was young, I have felt God calling me to serve him by sharing his truth. I wanted to start a blog and online business from home but never knew where to start until now.

I decided to trust God and take the leap of faith to create Homemakers Cornerstone.
This is a place where I can share my devotions, thoughts, and homemaking.

I plan to share tips on homemaking and products that have helped make my life as a housewife easier.

My goal is to reach other people with God’s word using my everyday life experiences.

I am a sinner who loves God, and I just want to share all the ways he makes himself known in my life, so that I can help others as he has helped me.

The Lord has blessed me with many interests to use in his ministry, and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you who takes an interest in Homemakers Cornerstone.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you enjoy the content that has been provided. Have a blessed day!

Sincerely,
Amelia Robertson

How Did Homemakers Cornerstone Get Its Name?

A homemaker is someone who cares for the home and puts the needs of those living in it first.

A cornerstone is a base from which a house is built. It provides a starting point for a stable foundation and stability for everything it holds.

I am a homemaker, and Jesus is the cornerstone of my life, beliefs, marriage, home, and purpose. The walls are joined together by the cornerstone; I am joined together with God and my husband through Jesus Christ.

Although, they are only two words they both carry many meanings and sum up the center of my life. God is my homemaker, and his only son Jesus is my cornerstone.

“As you come to him, the living stone rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him. You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in the scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”
Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”
1 Peter 2: 4-7, NIV

Near to the Brokenhearted"When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."Psalm 34:17–18 ESVSometimes life doesn’t go the way we hoped. Plans unravel. Doors close. Prayers seem unanswered. We can find ourselves standing in the middle of circumstances we never would have chosen, wondering how everything slipped so far out of our control. But what if those very moments are the places where God draws closest?Scripture reminds us that when we cry out, the Lord hears. Not only does He hear, He draws near. He is not distant from our pain. He is not impatient with our grief. He is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. There are seasons when everything feels unstable. When the weight of disappointment, loss, or uncertainty presses in so tightly that taking the next breath feels hard. And yet, even there, God is present. Sometimes His deliverance looks dramatic. Other times, it looks like quiet strength, one steady breath at a time. One small step forward. One moment of peace in the middle of chaos. When life feels out of control, we can rest in this truth: God is not. He is not shaken by what shakes us. He is not part of the broken systems of this world. He stands above it, sovereign and steady, holding us even when we cannot hold ourselves together.Your broken heart is not a place of abandonment. It is a place where God promises to be near.Ask yourself…1.What situation in your life right now feels out of your control?2. Have you honestly cried out to God about it, or have you been trying to carry it alone?3. In what small ways have you seen God sustain you — even if it’s just “one breath at a time”?4. What would it look like to fully trust God with this season, even before you see the outcome?Father,Thank You for being near when my heart feels heavy. Thank You for hearing me when I cry out, even when my prayers are messy and full of questions. In the middle of uncertainty, help me remember that You are steady. When I feel crushed in spirit, breathe Your peace into my soul. Teach me to trust You one moment at a time. Draw me closer through every trial, and remind me that I am never alone. In Jesus’ name, amen.#NearToTheBrokenhearted #Psalm341718#FaithInHardTimes #TrustGod#ChristianEncouragement #HopeInTheStorm #OneBreathAtATime #GodIsNear #BrokenButHeld#DailyDevotional See MoreSee Less

Peace is fragile when you give everyone access to your emotions. Some people are addicted to chaos because they’ve never learned how to sit with themselves. That doesn’t make it your responsibility to absorb their storms. You’re allowed to step back, go quiet, and protect your energy without explaining yourself. Not every reaction deserves a response. Not every battle deserves your time.Guard your calm like it’s earned, because it is.Your peace is not weakness. It’s proof you’ve grown past unnecessary noise.🧘‍♂️❤️@EntrepreneurshipFacts See MoreSee Less

Spreading Out the Light“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”John 1:5 (NIV)The room was dark, so I lit six candles. At first, I placed them all together in one corner. The light was beautiful, but it only touched a small portion of the room. The rest remained in shadow. It wasn’t until I spread the candles out around the room that the darkness began to retreat. The light filled every corner. What had once felt heavy and hidden was suddenly visible.Isn’t that how we sometimes treat Jesus? We invite Him into our hearts, but we keep Him contained. Maybe He’s present at church. Maybe He’s welcomed in conversations with Christian friends. But in other areas, our habits, our entertainment, certain relationships, our private thoughts; we keep Him tucked away in a corner. And then we wonder why we still feel lost. Why we still feel disconnected. Why something feels unsettled.Jesus isn’t meant to occupy one corner of our lives. He is the Light of the World. When we compartmentalize our faith, we limit His transforming power. But when we spread His presence into every part of our lives, our decisions, our conversations, our social circles, our quiet moments; His light exposes what doesn’t belong. And light does something powerful: it drives out what thrives in darkness. When you flip on a light in a dark room, the bugs scatter. They cannot remain where light fills the space. In the same way, when we allow Christ’s light into our hidden places, sin loses its comfort. Shame loses its grip. The things that once felt normal begin to feel out of place.Sometimes that exposure feels uncomfortable. But it is not meant to shame us, it is meant to free us.If you would be uncomfortable inviting Jesus into a situation, that discomfort may be the Holy Spirit gently guiding you. The Christian life isn’t about hiding Jesus in our hearts while blending into the world. It’s about letting His light shine through every part of us.True peace and contentment come when there are no dark corners left. When our heart, mind, soul, and daily life are fully surrendered to Him.Spread the candles.Let the light fill the room.Ask yourself…1. Are there areas of my life where I have kept Jesus in the “corner” instead of inviting Him fully in?2. What situations or habits would make me uncomfortable if I intentionally pictured Jesus present with me?3. Have I been ignoring the gentle conviction of the Holy Spirit in any area?4. What is one practical way I can “spread the light” in my daily routine this week?Lord Jesus,You are the Light that darkness cannot overcome. Forgive me for the times I have kept You contained to certain areas of my life. I don’t want to live with hidden corners or divided devotion. Search my heart and reveal anything that does not reflect You. Give me courage to surrender every habit, relationship, and thought that keeps me in the shadows.Shine in me. Fill every space. Drive out what does not belong. Help me live in the freedom, peace, and joy that come from walking fully in Your light. In Jesus name, Amen.#ChristianDevotional #LightInTheDarkness #John15 #FaithOverFear #WalkInTheLight#ChristianEncouragement #HolySpiritLeading#SurrenderToGod #WomenOfFaith #ChristianLiving See MoreSee Less
