Welcome!

Hello!

My name is Amelia Robertson, and it is my privilege to share with you the word of God through devotions, poems, and other writings.

Since I was young, I have felt God calling me to serve him by sharing his truth. I wanted to start a blog and online business from home but never knew where to start until now.

I decided to trust God and take the leap of faith to create Homemakers Cornerstone.
This is a place where I can share my devotions, thoughts, and homemaking.

I plan to share tips on homemaking and products that have helped make my life as a housewife easier.

My goal is to reach other people with God’s word using my everyday life experiences.

I am a sinner who loves God, and I just want to share all the ways he makes himself known in my life, so that I can help others as he has helped me.

The Lord has blessed me with many interests to use in his ministry, and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you who takes an interest in Homemakers Cornerstone.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you enjoy the content that has been provided. Have a blessed day!

Sincerely,
Amelia Robertson

How Did Homemakers Cornerstone Get Its Name?

A homemaker is someone who cares for the home and puts the needs of those living in it first.

A cornerstone is a base from which a house is built. It provides a starting point for a stable foundation and stability for everything it holds.

I am a homemaker, and Jesus is the cornerstone of my life, beliefs, marriage, home, and purpose. The walls are joined together by the cornerstone; I am joined together with God and my husband through Jesus Christ.

Although, they are only two words they both carry many meanings and sum up the center of my life. God is my homemaker, and his only son Jesus is my cornerstone.

“As you come to him, the living stone rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him. You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in the scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”
Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”
1 Peter 2: 4-7, NIV

Refined, Not Rejected"In this you rejoice greatly, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, which is much more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested and purified by fire, may be found to result in [your] praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:6-7 AMPThere are seasons in life that feel more like breaking than building.Moments where the pressure is heavy, the stretching is uncomfortable, and the outcome is unclear. It’s easy in those times to believe something has gone wrong—that maybe you’ve failed, or worse… that God has stepped back. But what if He hasn’t?What if, instead, He’s drawing closer?Scripture tells us that faith is refined like gold in fire. Gold isn’t destroyed in the fire—it’s purified. The heat doesn’t ruin it; it removes what doesn’t belong. In the same way, the trials you walk through aren’t meant to break you—they’re meant to refine you.To strengthen your faith. To deepen your trust. To shape your character into something stronger, steadier, and more like Christ. And just like iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17), God often uses people and circumstances to sharpen us too. Not always comfortably—but always intentionally.Sharpening requires friction.Refining requires fire. But neither happens without purpose. You are not being rejected in this season. You are being refined.God has not left you defenseless either. He has equipped you with everything you need to stand firm. Through Jesus, you are given strength, endurance, and the armor to face what comes. So even when the fire feels intense, you can trust this:God is not trying to harm you—He is preparing you.And when the refining is done, your faith won’t just survive… it will shine reflecting His glory. Reflection Questions:1. What “fire” are you currently walking through?2. How might God be using this season to refine or strengthen you?3. Where have you seen growth in yourself because of past challenges?Dear Lord,When life feels heavy and uncertain, help me remember that You are refining me, not rejecting me. Give me strength to endure the fire and trust that You are shaping something good in me. Surround me with the right people to sharpen and encourage my faith. Remind me that I am never alone, and that through You, I am equipped to overcome. In Jesus' name, amen.#RefinedNotRejected #FaithInTheFire #TrustGod #ChristianEncouragement #FaithJourney #GodIsWorking #SpiritualGrowth #ArmorOfGod #HopeInChrist See MoreSee Less

Closed Doors Are Protection Too“What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open.”Revelation 3:7 NIVThere have been moments in my life where I stood in front of a closed door, confused and disappointed. I prayed. I tried. I believed it would work out—and it didn’t.At the time, it felt like failure. But looking back, I can see something different. Not every “no” was rejection. Not every closed door was loss. Some of them were protection.Sometimes we walk toward things that look right, feel right, and even seem good—but they’re not God’s best for us. And in His love, He closes the door. Not to punish us, but to redirect us.It’s hard to understand in the moment. We question ourselves. We question God. We wonder what we did wrong. But what if nothing went wrong? What if God, in His mercy, was keeping you from something you couldn’t yet see clearly?A closed door doesn’t mean you failed. It doesn’t mean you weren’t good enough. It doesn’t mean you missed your chance. It might mean God is guiding you—protecting your peace, your purpose, and your future.Trusting God isn’t just about celebrating the open doors. It’s about trusting Him enough to accept the closed ones too.Because if He truly holds your life in His hands, then even the things that don’t work out are still working for you.And where He leads you next will always be worth the doors He closed behind you. Reflection Questions:1. Is there a “closed door” in your life that you’ve been viewing as failure?2. How might your perspective change if you saw it as protection instead?3. What would it look like to trust God in this situation, even without understanding it?Dear God,Help me trust You not only in the doors You open, but also in the ones You close. When things don’t work out the way I hoped, remind me that You are still working for my good. Give me peace in the unknown and confidence that You are guiding my steps, even when I don’t understand. Teach me to release control and rest in Your plan. In Jesus name, amen.#FaithOverFear #TrustGod #ClosedDoors #GodsPlan #ChristianEncouragement #FaithJourney #LetGoLetGod #TrustTheProcess #BibleTruth #HopeInGod See MoreSee Less
