“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22–23 ESV
Every morning is a gift from God, it is a fresh start and a new opportunity to make different choices. With each sunrise, God gently reminds us that yesterday’s failures do not have the final word. His mercy meets us before our feet even touch the floor.
I’ve often thought about heaven and how there is no night and no passing of time, just one continuous, glorious day in God’s presence. So why did God create time, night, and day for us here on earth? Perhaps it is because we needed a reminders that we need rest. We need endings so that new beginnings can come.
Night allows us to lay down our burdens, and morning invites us to begin again. God, in His compassion, built renewal into creation itself. His mercies are not recycled or worn thin, they are completely new every single morning. No matter how many times we fall, His forgiveness does not run out, and His love does not diminish.
God’s faithfulness is not dependent on our performance. It is constant, steady, and sure. Each day is an invitation to receive His mercy, walk in His grace, and trust that He is still working in us.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love that never fails and Your mercies that are new every morning. Thank You for giving me fresh beginnings and the grace to try again. Help me to release the weight of yesterday and step into today with trust and gratitude. Teach me to rest in Your faithfulness and walk confidently in Your forgiveness. I praise You for Your unchanging love and endless mercy. In Jesus name, Amen.
