When God Speaks, Creation Listens

“He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’” Job 37:6 NIV

I was standing on the porch this morning watching the snow fall all around me. The quiet, steady descent of each flake drew my attention to how different the landscape looked just a day before. What had once been bare and familiar was now softened and transformed.

It’s amazing what God can do with a single word. The snow does not hesitate or question, it simply obeys. Yet in our daily routines, we can become so accustomed to seasons and weather that we grow blind to the miracles unfolding around us. The changing of creation happens right before our eyes, but familiarity dulls our wonder.

Every day, an ending becomes a beginning, and a beginning quietly gives way to an end. These cycles repeat again and again, reminding us that God is always at work; renewing, restoring, and reshaping. When we pause long enough to notice, even falling snow becomes a testimony of His power and faithfulness.

Lord, thank You for speaking to creation and for reminding me of Your power through the simple beauty around me. Forgive me for the times I rush past Your miracles without noticing. Help me to slow down, to see with fresh eyes, and to trust You in every season of my life. Open my heart to the lessons You are teaching and renew my sense of wonder at all You do. In Jesus name, Amen.
