“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” — 2 Peter 3:8

We often measure life by clocks and calendars—waiting, counting, wondering why God hasn’t moved yet. But Scripture reminds us that God does not live under the pressure of time the way we do. To Him, a day and a thousand years hold the same weight. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is delayed.
When God created the heavens and the earth, He did so with intention, order, and purpose. The same God who spoke light into existence is still at work today, even when we cannot see it. What feels slow to us is never wasted time to Him.
This verse invites us to rest. To trust that God’s timing is always perfect—even when it doesn’t match our expectations. He is never late, never early, and never absent.
Prayer:
Lord, help me trust Your timing when I grow impatient. Remind me that You are always at work, even when I cannot see it. Teach me to rest in Your plans and to wait with faith and hope. In Jesus name, Amen.
