Do you ever find yourself giving credit to the devil for something that came from God?

For example… maybe you came into a little bit of extra money, a raise or a way to make some side money. You were so happy and thanked God because now you could finally afford something you’ve been wanting for a long time.

You could redo the bathroom, or buy a new car, or stop buying off brand groceries. The options seem limitless!

But then a vehicle breaks down, an unexpected vet bill happens, or your insurance goes up. You get angry because your plans are ruined! “Why does this always happen to me!” you might be asking yourself? “It was the devil! he saw I was just about to get something I’ve wanted for a long time and he decided to take it from me! He’s messing with my plans and happiness. God make him go away and give me your blessings because he’s trying to ruin my life!”

Or is he? What if, we change our view on the situation? What if, instead of seeing the devil “attack” us we see God’s provision?

God saw your vehicle was going to break down, he saw the unexpected vet bill, and he saw your insurance was going to go up before it was ever a thought in your mind.

He put everything in place so your needs would be met and you would have money to pay the new expenses.

However, the desires of your flesh caused you to see that the devil was involved. The devil doesn’t actually have to do anything except manipulate your thoughts. If he can turn God’s blessings into a negative then his work is done.

“Trust that God will provide for all your needs” (Philippians 4:19) and believe in his words and not your own, because “the heart is deceitful above all things” (Jeremiah 17:9).

God knows what you need and what you can live without. Look beyond your worldly desires and seek his wisdom and understanding. Whatever your circumstances be thankful and give praise to God!

The devil doesn’t need your attention. Give God all the credit because he sees what you can’t and makes a way where there isn’t one.

His will be done, not yours!

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV
