“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

Lately, life has felt heavy.
The past several days I’ve struggled just to walk because of a herniated disc. Simple things that most people never think twice about—standing up, taking a few steps, getting comfortable enough to sleep—have suddenly become difficult. At the same time, I’ve been pouring my heart into building my online store, trying to create something meaningful, only to run into problem after problem that I can’t seem to fix.
If I’m honest, I’ve felt defeated.
Not the dramatic kind of defeated. The quiet kind. The kind where you sit in silence staring at a screen that still isn’t working, while your body aches and your mind keeps asking, “Lord, why does everything feel so hard right now?”
I think many of us know what it feels like to carry burdens we cannot control.
We try harder. We push more. We search for answers. We hold tighter.
But eventually we reach a moment where our strength runs out. And maybe that’s exactly where God begins reminding us that we were never meant to carry everything alone.
So often we think trusting God means feeling confident all the time. But real trust is choosing to believe He is still good even when life feels uncertain. It’s surrendering the outcome when things are not going according to our plans. It’s saying, “Lord, I don’t understand this season, but I know You are still with me in it.”
Some of the deepest faith is formed in moments when we feel weak, frustrated, and weary.
Not because suffering is easy, but because hardship teaches us to depend on God in ways comfort never could.
Maybe today you feel exhausted too. Maybe you’re carrying pain no one sees. Maybe you feel discouraged because the prayers haven’t been answered yet.
But take heart: God is not absent in your struggle.
He sees every tear, every setback, every painful step forward. And even when you feel like you’re falling apart, He is still holding you together.
You do not have to have everything figured out today. You do not have to carry tomorrow’s weight today. You simply have to take the next step with God.
And sometimes faith looks less like conquering the mountain and more like quietly whispering, “Lord, help me trust You one more day.”
Reflection Questions
1. What burden have I been trying to carry on my own?
2. In what area of my life do I need to surrender control to God?
3. How can I choose trust even before I see the outcome?
Lord, I confess that sometimes I feel overwhelmed and defeated. When life feels heavy and my strength is gone, help me remember that I was never meant to carry everything alone. Teach me to surrender my worries, my plans, and my fears into Your hands. Give me peace in the waiting, strength for today, and faith for tomorrow. Remind me that even in weakness, You are near. Thank You for walking beside me through every difficult season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
