
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

The other day I found myself wondering what the world would look like if I could see it through God’s eyes.
Not because I believe I could ever truly understand His perspective. His thoughts are higher than mine, and His wisdom is beyond my understanding. But I couldn’t help wondering how differently I might walk through each day if I looked beyond the noise that so often demands my attention.
Everywhere we turn, something is competing for our eyes.
The news tells us what to fear.
Social media tells us what we’re missing.
Advertisements tell us we don’t have enough.
The world teaches us to move faster, accomplish more, and compare ourselves to everyone around us.
It’s exhausting.
Yet when I walk through the fields and Mountains with my camera, something changes.
The notifications fade.
The endless opinions disappear.
I’m no longer thinking about what everyone else is doing.
Instead, I notice the way morning light filters through the trees. I stop to admire a patch of wildflowers blooming along the path I walk.
I hear a creek that’s been faithfully flowing long before I arrived and will continue long after I’m gone.
Those quiet moments remind me that God has always been creating beauty, whether anyone notices it or not.
I think that’s part of what He wants for us—not that we literally see through His eyes, but that He teaches us to see with hearts that are no longer distracted by everything the world says is important.
Maybe that’s why Jesus so often pointed people toward creation.
He spoke about birds instead of worry.
Lilies instead of wealth.
Seeds instead of success.
Vines instead of status.
He invited people to slow down and notice what His Father had already placed all around them.
Creation has a way of quieting our minds so our hearts are ready to listen.
I wonder how different our days would feel if, before opening social media, we first stepped outside and watched the sunrise.
If before reading the headlines, we listened to birdsong.
If before comparing our lives to someone else’s, we thanked God for the blessings already sitting quietly in front of us.
A loving spouse.
A faithful dog.
The breeze through the trees.
The laughter of someone we love.
The mountains standing faithfully in the distance.
Perhaps seeing the world with renewed eyes isn’t about seeing more.
Perhaps it’s about finally noticing what God has been showing us all along.
Today, ask God to help you look beyond the noise. Slow your pace. Put down the phone for a few moments. Step outside if you can and look closely… His fingerprints are everywhere.

2. When was the last time you slowed down long enough to simply enjoy God’s creation?
3. What ordinary blessing can you thank God for today that you may have overlooked yesterday?
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for filling this world with reminders of Your goodness. Forgive me for the times I become so distracted by the noise around me that I overlook the beauty You’ve placed right in front of me. Help me to see with eyes of gratitude, a heart of wonder, and a mind that dwells on what is true, lovely, and praiseworthy. Teach me to slow down, notice Your handiwork, and find peace in Your presence. May every sunrise, mountain trail, blooming flower, and flowing creek remind me that You are near.
